DealDash Helps Baby Sleep at Night

DealDash

If you have a baby, you know how tough it is to get them to sleep. Here are some tips and tricks, from DealDash.

Getting your baby to sleep through the night can seem like a never ending struggle. Try as you might it often seems like there is just no way that the newest addition to your family is going to sleep all the way through until morning. It doesn’t have to be that way though, here are some tips for getting your baby to sleep through the night, from DealDash.

Don’t Rush Things

You should never rush your baby to sleep through the night. You will save yourself a lot of stress if you remember this. It can take a little time for your newborn to get their days and nights straight. This is called circadian rhythm, the body’s cellular time clock. Babies typically start out with their days and nights reversed but develop a natural sleep-wake cycle that is more in line with night and day. You need to take your time and ease your baby into sleeping until morning.

Daytime is For Eating

Making sure that your baby starts to know that day time is when they eat and night time is when they sleep will also be helpful in making sure that they sleep through the night. Definitely do not overfeed them during the day in an effort to make them sleep longer as that will just end up upsetting your baby’s stomach. Just make sure that you send them to bed with a full tummy. During the first few months of your baby’s life, they will most likely wake up to eat a few times during the night. This is normal, don’t be alarmed. If you have any concerns, please talk to your pediatrician.

Shhhhh! The Baby is Sleeping!

Creating the right environment for your baby to go to sleep is another thing that you can do to get them to sleep through the night. When it is time to go to bed make sure that you do things like turn the lights down as well as the television. You can choose to rock your baby to sleep or even play some soft and soothing music. There are mobiles that you can attach to the crib that spin and play music, or you can get a sound machine that plays projections on the ceiling. I love my noise machine projector, it has a timer on it that I can set for 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes.
