Smell that? I think puppy needs a bath. Here are some tips from DealDash to help.

Taking your puppy to the groomer’s seems like an easy way to give your puppy a bath. However, this is not always the case. Most puppies do not like loud noises or a lot of people around.  Your puppy is small, so it is easier to give your puppy a bath at home. Here are some tips to give your puppy the proper bath, from DealDash.

Put Together All of Your Materials

In order to give your puppy a bath, you have to gather your materials. You can either give your dog a basic bath or a deeper cleaning.  Some materials you would need are a comb, a towel, bucket, brush, sponge, and shampoo. You can also keep some treats on hand to give to your puppy just in case he gets restless. Having all of your supplies on hand will make the process go much more smoothly.

Where to Bathe Puppy

Your puppy is most likely small, so it is best to bathe your puppy in a bathtub. You can also use a sink or plastic tub. Pick a location where you will not have to kneel too much or strain yourself.  If your puppy is prone to falling, it is best to not put him in a sink. You should use a shower instead, or a plastic tub on the floor, or even a kid’s baby pool if you have a larger breed of dog.

Prepare Your Puppy

Puppies are very delicate and can be fearful. You should prepare your puppy for a bath. Speaking to him in a soothing voice and letting him get in the tub with no water will help your dog get used to his surroundings.  It may take a few days or weeks for your puppy to get used to bathing. However, with a lot of patience and repetition, he will eventually become more comfortable.
