DealDash

Now that we’re more than 2/3rds through the school year it’s a common time to have classroom parties. Here are some great tips for throwing a classroom party, from DealDash.

Have you volunteered to help throw a party in your child’s classroom? If you are unsure as to where to start, this article from DealDash can help. It can seem like an overwhelming task at first, but hopefully, these helpful tips will make things a little easier for you. Read on for more information from DealDash.

Communicate with the Teacher

You want to make sure that you are properly communicating with all of the people that will be assisting you with the party. Make it a point to stay in contact with the teacher and classroom paraprofessional, but also any other parent volunteers. You need to make sure that everyone knows exactly what they need to be doing during the party. This way things will go a lot smoother during the party as everyone will know what their jobs are.

Split the Kids into Groups

Make sure to split the kids up into several different groups during the party. This way all of the kids will have a better chance to be able to do each activity that you have planned for the party. If you have all the kids in one big group there will be kids that will not get their turn to try each activity. If they are in several different groups it allows everyone to get their chance. This is also helpful for separating certain children who don’t work well together or distract each other from completing tasks.

Small Prizes Get Big Smiles

You will want to find prizes for everyone participating in the party. You don’t want anyone to feel bad for not getting something at the party so make sure to encourage everyone to give everything a try so they can get a prize. These prizes don’t have to be expensive. Some ideas for small prizes:

  • Stickers
  • Temporary tattoos
  • Self-inking stamps
  • Rubber bracelets
  • Plastic rings
  • Candy (Make sure that they are nut-free in case of allergies)

Snacks and Treats

If you have snacks or treats for the party make sure that you have them when the party is wrapping up. That way you do not have to worry about things getting too messy. Again, make sure that these treats are nut-free. Also, make sure to take lots of pictures during the party so that everyone can remember what a fun time they had at the party.
