DealDash Guide to a Beach Day With Kids

DealDash

A trip to the beach with kids is a fun and tiring experience. Here is a guide from DealDash to having the best time at the beach with little ones.

Do you remember the days when you went to the beach either alone, with friends, or with a partner? You had not a care in the world but what bathing suit to wear? You could do whatever you wanted like read a book, tan in the sun and maybe, possibly, even take a nap!

However, now, with kids, that fun in the sun is a distant memory, and your day at the beach has become just watching your kids in a different location. However, simply follow this guide from DealDash and you will be enjoying the beach with your kids in no time!

Pack Your Beach Bag in Advance

If you’re trying to get an early start to your fun beach day you’ll need to get your packing done the night before. Once your kids are in bed, it’s time to pack your beach bag. Take just a few minutes to prep and it will save you time in the morning when time is precious. If you prefer, you can make a list and then gather the items. This way you will be certain not to forget anything.

Apply Sunscreen at Home (or Hotel)

Take just a few minutes before you hop in the car to go to the beach to apply everyone’s sunscreen. Did you know that sunscreen doesn’t actually start working immediately? It takes about 15 minutes to start working, so it’s a good idea to apply it before you leave for the beach. Also, it’s much easier and less stressful to put everyone’s sunscreen on at home rather than on the beach when everyone is eager to get into the water and start playing.

Sunscreen also needs to be re-applied throughout the day. Once the initial application is on, you have about 60–80 minutes until it’s time to touch‐up. Read the bottle of sunscreen to know exactly when it’s time to re-apply. Be sure to out a small‐sized tube of SPF 50+ sunscreen in a pocket of your beach bag. You can set an alarm on your phone to remind you when it’s time to apply the next coat.

Don’t Forget the Snacks (and Water)!

Kids of all ages like snacks. A day at the beach burns a lot of calories, so it’s important to be able to refuel yourself and your family. Try chips, popcorn, pretzels, cookies, and fruit like watermelon and grapes. Also, don’t forget the bottled water! I suggest bringing more water than you think you will need. It can’t hurt, and it is important to stay hydrated.
