Bleach for the All-White Items

This one is fairly obvious, everyone knows about bleach! However, some people don’t realize that it osn’t recommended not to use bleach on items that have white as well as other colors. So with that said, if you have a patterned or multi-colored item you want to brighten up, use a method instead of chlorine bleach.

Peroxide

Surprisingly, Hydrogen Peroxide will eliminate a lot of stains, including blood as long as you apply it soon enough. You can use peroxide on clothing, table cloths, and even shoes. Simply rinse off as much of the stain as you can, and then liberally apply the peroxide. Personally, I put my peroxide in a spray bottle and spray any stains before I toss them in the hamper or washing machine. Peroxide makes an excellent stain pre-treater.

Dawn Dish Detergent

My favorite dish detergent is Dawn, of course, and it can be used for so many things. However, the best use of Dawn dish detergent stain-wise is on greasy stains. If I am cooking and I get any greasy stains on my clothing I immediately put some Dawn on a paper towl and blot it into the grease stain. After that I just leave it in as a pre-treatment.

Dawn is great to clean just about anything! Just remember, though, that it foams up really well, so don’t put too much on at one time or you will get way too much foam action going on in your washing machine. If you feel like you need a lot for the stain, just be sure that you rinse it out before you put it in the washing machine.
