Telecommuting Might Be an Option

Does your place of work offer telecommuting options? This should be one of the first few things that you consider when you want to work from home. If your place of work offers telecommuting options this would be your easiest transition into working from home. If they don’t you will need to consider a career change or becoming a freelancer. 

Do You Have Space?

Do you have room in your house to work from home? You will need to make sure that you have an area set aside for you to work from home in. Having a dedicated area to work from home will allow you to focus on the work that you need to get done. It would be extremely helpful if this area has a door, but it isn’t a must.

Will You Still Need Daycare?

Will you still need childcare when you work from home? Now, this seems to negate the purpose of working from home, however, there are many people that work from home that have childcare for their kids. Typically this is for a small portion of the day so they can get their work done instead of full-time daycare. Some people can do without daycare, but this but it is definitely something to consider.
