DealDash Kids: Volunteer With Your Children

DealDash

We’ve talked about the benefits of volunteering before. Your kids can get the same satisfaction of helping others by volunteering as well. Here are some tips to get started, from DealDash.

Spending time with your kids is very important.  There are many things that you can do with your kids such as going to the park, go on vacations and other activities.  One of the best things to do with your kids is to volunteer and give back to your community. This will teach your kids how to serve others all while bonding with them. There are many volunteer activities you can do with your kids. Here are some ideas for volunteer work, from DealDash.

Write Cards for Kids Who are Sick

We can’t imagine how hard it must be to stay inside all day in the hospital when you are a kid. Writing cards and letters to kids in the hospital will bring a smile to the patient.  Simply have your kids write a letter to one of the kids, and they will form an awesome friendship with the young child that they are writing to. If your child is not quite writing yet, then find a nice blank card or picture to color, and let them color, and after you can write a nice message for them.

Sing for Senior Home Residents

Another activity that you can do is sing to the elderly in a nursing home. Persuade your children to explore their talent with music. You can write the songs for the elderly, or you can sing some of the songs that the seniors grew up with. You will brighten a senior citizens day by singing beautiful songs to lift their spirits. Trust me, the seniors won’t care if your kids can’t carry a tune, they just love to see little smiling faces.

Clean Up the Neighborhood Park

Cleaning outdoors is a great activity for kids. You can put together a neighborhood cleaning group to clean the parks in your neighborhood. You will be keeping your community clean and safe when you take time to clean up your neighborhood park. After you finish, you should have a picnic to reward yourself for your good deeds. Kids don’t mind this activity as much as you think they might, they like to be outside in the fresh air and sunshine.
