DealDash Prepares Kids for Back to School

DealDash

In most communities, “Back to school” will probably look different this year. Here are some tips from DealDash to help prepare for anything.

We might still have about a month before school starts, but it’s important to be prepared, especially this year. Most places don’t actually know what “back to school” is going to look like, yet. This year might include in-person, online, or a hybrid learning model. However, parents want to be sure to help their kids make the transition back to school as successful as possible, no matter which way they end up going. Here are some tips to help make this school year as successful as possible for your children, from DealDash.

Get Back Into a Routine, Starting NOW

To begin with, I don’t know about you, but my kids have been staying up later at night and sleeping later in the day. It will take a little work on your part as a parent, but be sure they get back into a morning school routine. You need to start their morning school routine about two weeks before they are ready to head back to school, so fairly soon for some parts of the USA.

If your kids typically have to get up at 7 AM for school and go to bed at 8 PM at night but have been having more of a 9 AM-10 PM schedule lately, it’s time to shift it. To do this, simply move wake-up and bedtime 15 minutes up on the first day. Continue this schedule for a few days, then shift it up another 15 minutes. Repeat this process until they are back on a normal school schedule.

Calm Their Fears

Next, the world has been a little scary lately, especially for kids. Kids typically have some apprehension when school begins again, and this year will be a little more difficult than usual. You want to take the time to help calm any fears that your child may be having with going back to school.

Unfortunately, if you don’t know yet how school will be happening in your area yet, it can be hard to give your kids the information they need. It might be helpful to go over the different ways that school might happen this year (in-person, online, or a hybrid) and talk a little bit about each different scenario.
