DealDash Guide for Hosting Thanksgiving

DealDash

Thanksgiving will be here in a few short weeks. If you’re hosting this year you’ll want to read these tips from DealDash.

Everyone loves Thanksgiving- it’s the perfect chance to see your family and over-indulge in food a bit. That diet can wait until next week! What most of us don’t talk about is the fact that someone has to host Thanksgiving dinner. It can be a pretty stressful day for the host. We’ve got a few tips to make hosting Thanksgiving as painless as possible. Read on for more information, from DealDash.

Pre-Set the Table

Our family has made a habit of pre-setting the table the night before. Rather than waiting until Thanksgiving to start our prep, as we’re cooking the turkey, we like to get the plates, silverware and table cloths out and at least get everything on the table. In a perfect world, we try setting the table, but when you’re making dinner for a dozen people, space can be a precious thing. By having everything out, it will speed the process up a bit on Thanksgiving morning. Of course, if you have naughty pets that like to sneak up on the table when you’re not looking you might not want to do this, Instead, you can just gather all of the dining items in a central location for easy set-up while everything is cooking.

Prepare Food Ahead of Time

If you’ve got the chance to prepare anything ahead of time, we encourage you to do so. Making your key ingredients ahead of time will save a lot of stress. After all, it’s not difficult to freeze a pie, then pull it out on Thanksgiving morning. You can also make mashed potatoes, potato salad, green bean casserole, and many more dishes the day before. This will save tons of time when you are busy on Thanksgiving Day entertaining your relatives.

Use Your Slow Cooker From DealDash

Along the same lines, allow time to do some of the work for you. Most of us forget about the wonder that is a crockpot/slow cooker. As I have said many times before, DealDash is the best place to get small appliances. One of the best kitchen items ever, the slow cooker, is available on DealDash! When you use your DealDash slow cooker you will save tons of time and effort.

There are some slow-cooker turkey recipes on the internet. We realize that you may not want to cook your turkey in a slow-cooker, but there’s nothing wrong with using it to make vegetables, potatoes, or even a cobbler. If you would like to check out the slow cookers and other kitchen items on DealDash, just click here. You will find blenders, waffle makers, coffee makers, and more in the Kitchen and Dining category.

Cook ALL the Food

It’s always a good idea to over-prepare. If you think that you have 10 people showing up, plan for 12-15. You never want to run out of food if you can avoid it. This idea also goes for overnight guests. If you’ve got the space to use, clean a few extra sets of linens and toss have them ready for a last-minute guest.

Thanks for Reading

As your dinner draws to an end, it’s reasonable to remind everyone that you could use a little help. As they say, “Many hands make light work”. Ask for a little help as you clean up so that you can enjoy the holiday as well. Thanks so much for reading this DealDash article on hosting Thanksgiving. I hope that it was helpful to you.
