DealDash Winter Weekend Fun Ideas
Winter, snow, and fun aren’t normally words that I would put together. However, here are some ideas from DealDash to make this wintery weekend lots of fun.
No matter what the weather outside it seems like my kids always want to go outside and play. I guess that’s what I get for limiting their screen time! Being originally from North Carolina I have an intense dislike of Boston winters, but I try to find fun outside activities anyway. Here are some fun outdoor activities from DealDash that you can do in winter. Some are for kids specifically, and some are for anyone 5-95!
Snow Painting
No, you don’t use real paint for snow painting, though it does require a couple of materials that you will have to be sure that you have on hand. You’ll need a clean squeeze bottle of any kind such as a ketchup, mustard, or shampoo bottle. You can also buy bottles at the dollar store that are meant to store ketchup and mustard. When you have your empty (clean) squeeze bottles, fill them with water that is colored with food coloring. Take them outside and draw pictures on the snow.
Snow Creatures
If the kids are tired of making the same old snowman every snowstorm, why not try to make snow creatures next time instead? There are plenty of critters that are fairly simple to make out of the snow such as a sea turtle or a snake.
You don’t have to stick to real animals, either! Have a contest to see who can make the most interesting snow creature using the snow and whatever other materials that can be found in your yard such as stones, sticks, leaves, etc.
Winter Walk & Animal Hunt
Not that kind of hunting! Before you leave your house make a checklist of animals that you are reasonably likely to see in your neighborhood or local park such as rabbits, birds, squirrels, skunks, possums, deer, etc. See if you can find all of the animals on your checklist.
Snow Throw
Make a large bullseye target out of a cardboard box and take it outside. Mount it in a tree, on a fence, or on top of the car. See who can get the most direct hits to the target with snowballs. You could also make multiple targets and put them at different distances so younger and older players have a fair playing field.
If you decide to stay indoors instead, don’t forget to read the DealDash Tips and Reviews Blogs daily to stay “in the loop” when it comes up upcoming DealDash promotions and sales.
