Spring is here and it’s almost time for April vacation! What will you and your family do with your week off of school?

Ah, spring. The time of sun, rain, and allergies. However, with all of these things comes another great positive – April vacation! My kids love April vacation, and I bet your kids and grandkids do, too. What will you do with your week off of school? Let DealDash help you figure it out. Spring has so much potential for the activities you can do with your family outside, enjoying the beautiful warmth after three long months of cold. How do we best enjoy this wonderful time of year? We just need a little imagination and some spare time. But hey, that’s what spring break is for, right?

Pick Up a Frisbee

Some of the most enjoyable Springtime moments come from time outdoors with your family. April vacation is the perfect time to learn a new skill – why not how to throw a frisbee? Your kids will love tossing around a frisbee with you. Not only is it fun it’s also healthy for your body and your coordination.

Baseball or Softball

If your kids are a bit older, then April vacation is the perfect time to play some baseball or softball with them. You don’t need a field and full teams of nine people each for a friendly game. See if the neighbor kids want to join in, and get pitching!

Keep the Electronic Devices Off

Try to turn off the television, video games, and tablets for all of April vacation. This is the perfect time for getting outside, getting some sun, and burning off that energy from the long winter. It’s known that an object in motion tends to stay in motion – so let’s get that motion started and keep those devices off. Otherwise, your kids are just going to waste away the beautiful days in front of the TV.

If Your Kids Are Less Athletic

If your kids aren’t very athletic, no problem. We all have our own lifestyles and preferences. April vacation is a wonderful time to get your preparations for the garden started. My 6-year-old daughter isn’t much for sports, but she loves to be outside and helping with the garden.

Another fun thing to do to pass the time is hunting neat rocks in the creek or park and painting them. There is actually an article here on DealDashReviewed.com that explains how to do that. Just click here and read all about it.

Finally, another fun thing to do with your time would be building and painting a birdhouse with your kids. We did this last year and it was so much fun. If you’re handy you can build your own, but we got ours as a kit that simply needed to be assembled and painted.
