With the weather getting warmer you might be thinking about breaking out your outdoor grill to start preparing some of your meals. One excellent choice for a tasty and healthy meal on the grill is grilling fish. Here are a few tips for grilling fish, from DealDash.

Choose Your Fish Wisely

You want to select the right kind of fish when you want to grill it. While frozen fish is okay for grilling, for optimal results you want to try and use fresh fish. This is if at all possible. If you are unsure of how to select a good cut of fresh fish, ask someone in the meat department for assistance. If you must go with frozen fish make sure you select well-packaged fish that does not have any signs of being freezer burnt.

Time to Marinate

Once you have your fish for grilling you will need to make sure that you are preparing it correctly for grilling.  If you are grilling a thicker cut of fish like salmon, you need to marinate it for 4-5 hours before grilling it to really bring out the flavor. If you are grilling a more delicate cut of fish like tilapia you will want to grill it in a foil package to avoid it falling apart on the grill. No matter what kind of fish you use you can easily read it’s grilling instructions by doing a quick internet search.

Now it’s Time to Grill

Now that you have properly prepared your fish, you need to grill it correctly. Make sure that you have oiled the grill so that your fish will not stick while grilling. If you have marinated your fish, make sure to pat it dry with a paper towel so that you can get a nice sear on it. If you have not marinated your fish make sure to add salt and pepper before putting your fish on the grill.

Making sure that you have grilled your fish correctly will do wonderful things for the taste of the dish you are preparing. You and your whole family will love it.
