DealDash Family: Indoor Winter Fun
With the fun and excitement of the holidays over, your family might be complaining of boredom. No problem, DealDash has some ideas for fun places to go when it’s cold out.
Let’s face it, the younger members of your family have probably already gotten tired of the mountain of toys that they unwrapped just a few weeks ago. The mall can be fun, but you can only go there so many times. Read on for some fun places from DealDash to go that won’t have your family saying “I’m borrrred!”
The Arcade
Going to the arcade might seem like a very old idea to those of us who grew up in the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s. However, the kids of today still like going to the arcade – especially if your arcade does a ticket/prize swap. For the younger kids, there are some games that you might be familiar with as an app on your phone, for older kids, there are games such as basketball and giant Connect Four, and for us Gen X and Y’ers, there are classic video games. When my family was on vacation this past summer to Utah, they even had nickel arcades! You can have a lot of fun with just a few dollars.
The Aquarium
Next, the aquarium is one of my family’s favorite activities. Most medium-sized cities have one, and they are usually reasonably priced. We like the aquarium so much that we always buy a yearly pass so we can go as many times as we want for free throughout the year. Typically, if you plan on going to the aquarium at least three times per year then buying the yearly pass makes good financial sense. The aquarium is another place that can be fun for the whole family from kids to seniors. My mother-in-law always enjoys going with us when she is in town. Just be sure to do the math to see if buying a yearly pass makes sense financially.
Jumpy Places
Jumpy places have been popping up all over the place in my area. These are places that have indoor trampolines, big “pools” full of foam, and air-filled structures for kids to climb, slide, and play on. This is the only place on the list that I have included that the adults in the family might not enjoy. However, depending on the facility, usually, the adults are allowed to jump on the trampolines, too.
