DealDash Reorganizes Rooms
Does the change of seasons get you feeling a little mopey? Try reorganizing a room, it will get you thinking positively.
Even though I love fall sometimes the change of seasons makes me feel a little blah. Anytime I feel blah I like to do a little “retail therapy” on DealDash, and then do a little reorganizing in my home.
I’ve been feeling a little down lately, so I decided to reorganize my kid’s playroom over the past weekend. Getting rid of things, moving things around, and getting new things are just the recipe to get me feeling more positive. Everyone organizes differently, but here’s how I go about organizing the playroom. A kitchen would be organized in a different way, of course, but this way is good for a kid’s room, a den, a playroom, etc.
Firstly, I get rid of all of the things that I don’t need – be it little scraps of paper, broken things, or things that I just don’t need or want anymore. The better stuff goes in the donation box, and the rest goes in the trash.
Next, it’s good to group things together – the books with the books, the Legos with the Legos, and so on. After everything has been grouped together, see if any groups should be put next to each other, for example the group of crayons could be put with the group of paints, and so on.
Make sure that each group of items has a “home” that it belongs to, which can be on a shelf, in a cloth bin, or in drawers. If there are some random items left over that don’t fit into any specific group, I like to put the random items together in their own little group.
The more organized you are, the easier it is to clean, which is the next step. As you are putting the groups of items in their homes, be sure to give the bin or shelf a quick wipe with a cloth before you put everything away. After that you can vacuum or sweep and mop. There, doesn’t everything look better and more organized now?
