If your goal is to be more fit by summer you might want to consider reducing the carbs in your diet. Here are some ways to help you cut carbs for fitness, from DealDash.
Are you looking to be more fit and even shed some unwanted weight? Then you should look into cutting down on the number of carbohydrates that you consume each day. When it comes down to doing this it is actually easier then you would imagine. Here are several ways in which you can cut carbohydrates from your diet, courtesy of DealDash.
Fewer Fruit Juices
You will want to cut down on drinking fruit juices. First of all, they do not carry the fiber content that you can get from eating a piece of fruit. Secondly, fruit juice is packed full of carbohydrates and sugars which can lead to weight gain, sadly, and not weight loss. Even though fruit itself is quite good for you, the juicing process takes out the fiber that is so good for you.
Use Tortilla or Lettuce for Sandwiches
Start using tortillas to wrap up your burgers and sandwiches. You could also choose to use lettuce to wrap up the sandwiches or burgers that you are eating. Either way, you will be cutting down on the number of carbohydrates that you are consuming. Not only that, if you can get whole grain tortillas you are adding even more health benefits to your diet.
No More Noodles
Getting rid of noodles is another way to spare yourself unwanted carbohydrates. Making noodles out of vegetables is a tasty way to have “noodles” without worrying about a ton of carbs. There are a lot of great gadgets out there that can help you turn your vegetables into noodles. If you simply must have noodles, then get the 100% whole grain instead of the white pasta. It still has carbs, but there are fewer and the whole grain is healthier in general.
Toss Out the Chips
Ditching potato chips is another thing that you can do in order to get rid of carbohydrates in your diet. You can choose to make vegetable chips instead, such as carrot, beet or kale chips. They are much healthier for you and taste great. Simply slice your vegetable of choice thin and sprinkle with olive oil and a pinch of salt, bake, and you are going to love the way they taste.
