Need something to keep your kids and their friends busy? Let DealDash show you how to throw a cooking party for kids.

Are you looking for a fun activity for your kids and their friends? Then you should definitely consider throwing a cooking party. It is a fantastic way for the kids to learn a useful skill while having a great deal of fun. Here are a few tips for throwing a fun and successful cooking party for kids, from DealDash.

What’s Your Theme?

The first thing that you should do when you throw a cooking party for kids is to select a theme for your party. For instance, you could throw a pizza making party, or perhaps you could focus on summer foods. Whatever you think might hold the interest of the kids that are invited to the party. Once you have a theme you are ready to move to the next step.

If you’d like to ensure the success of your cooking party, when you send out the invites include a poll on what type of cooking theme the party will have. Give a couple of choices, and go with what the majority chooses when they RSVP.

Keep it Small

You will want to keep the guest list short for the party. This is because you want to be able to be able to give all the kids the attention that they deserve. You also want to make sure the party is really hands on so that the kids will all have fun and no one will get bored. ANd most importantly you want to make sure that you can watch everyone so no one accidentally gets hurt. Between 5-7 kids is the perfect number for your cooking party. If you have other younger children to watch you will want to keep the number lower.

Variety is the Spice of Life

Make sure there are a variety of things to do at the cooking party. For instance, make sure there is something for a child to do that may not want to get as messy as the other kids. This is a great way to make sure that everyone is involved. You should offer different stations that the kids can work at so they can have the most fun. Some examples of workstations could be washing the fruits/veggies, using a cookie cutter to make shapes, mixing ingredients together, and so on.

Send Them Home with a Little Something

When everything is the and they kids are ready to go home offer them each a fun goody bag. These things will help them remember the party. It doesn’t have to be anything expensive just something related to cooking such as cookie or sandwich cutters, fun-themed measuring spoons, etc.
